I’ve been seeing hearts lately – in just about everything. From crumbs to smudges of dirt, they are showing up in the most bizarre places. Even the fringe of my rug isn’t safe.
If you follow me on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, you know what I’m talking about. I started noticing them when I was finishing my third book, which is a humorous memoir about my divorce (if there can be such a thing.) I thought it was kind of a cruel joke.
Show the divorced lady all the hearts…
But for a year and change, they have been everywhere. Even the toilet paper on the floor of the Tribune bathroom had a heart shape the other day. (I couldn’t make this shit up!)
It’s gotten to the point where I see so many throughout the day that I’ve stopped taking pictures. (It’s annoying to squat down in the middle of the sidewalk to zoom in on every piece of heart-shaped gum.)
So of course, after all these hearts, it leaves me wondering-
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
I posed the question to best selling author Judith Orloff who has written a couple of my favorite books including “Positive Energy” and her latest which is fantastic, “The Ecstasy of Surrender”. Here is what she said about my heart-o-rama:
“Hearts are powerful symbols that Awaken people to the love that is possible. There may be angels all over everywhere that want to help us awaken into love. Their messages can come to us in the most whimsical ways. Seeing hearts places is the way that love can be communicated. I suggest you let go of your rational critical mind and be like a child again to accept all the loving Messages around you and just surrender to them.”
After I emailed Judith, I went to lunch and saw this on the sidewalk.
I’m not kidding!!!
So I will keep sharing and keep surrendering.
Do yourself a favor and do the same. You might be amazed at what you see.
Love this Jen!! But don’t take any of these beauties for granted. Each is a gift that carries a reminder. Each time I find one in an odd place….an onion, a shoelace, a piece of toilet paper I pause and give thanks for the abundance of gifts and gentle reminders sent from the Universe.

Yes, Jen, you’re right.
The hearts are messages from the Universe to take care of yours, know that you have a one, to know that there are heart/s out there waiting for you, and to have your heart be open to it. This aren’t accidents (co-incidences).
In fact, the word co-incidence, when you think of it is just that…an incident coming together (co). I sound like George Costanza talking about “man-ure” to Marisa Tomei!

I see hearts everywhere, all the time. It is a reminder to me that life is not supposed to be so complicated. It helps me slow down and focus on what I have right in front of me.
I posted your heart comments on FB…like you and so many out there, I find them, unexpectedly, everywhere. I actually have a collection of heart stones in my garden..all nature made. Thanks for your insights and your wit and humor in our crazy times. It’s much needed!
I see hearts everywhere but don’t know what they mean. I just got out of a bad relationship. I was deeply in love with him and was very hard to break up with him and he my ground. The hearts will sometimes have the letter of his first name attached to it. Help me understand what this means.
I too have been seeing hearts everywhere. I saw a heart show up on a paper towel over the steam table at work. The steam produced the heart, I took a picture. Two hearts showed up in the cat’s litter box with their urine (strange, but they were there together in different directions). Keep finding heart shaped potato chips. Heart shaped rocks. A small cracker on the floor at work, in the shape of a heart. They are everywhere like you said. I smile when I see these hearts. I know these are messages and I am trying to stay positive.
Exactly the same thing with me oil stain in my sidewalk I bent down to pick up my debit card and it landed right next to a heart in the pavement – toilet paper pieces creamer into coffee – food – new heart freckle on my right leg — etc!! I just smile and sometimes laugh out and say I love you too ! 🤗

I am a very loving person, I give love freely. I think the universe, and my Angels are telling me that they love me and love is coming back to me. 😊
My boyfriend got me a promise ring it had a big heart on top him and the one under it was my heart and the 3 hearts on the side behind me meant his mom my Gram and my dad all that are passed and not here with us . It made me cry the meaning of hearts is so moving
I haven’t really ever thought about all the hearts that I see until two night ago eating chineese chicken salad with my son. The sweet and sour sauce made a perfect red heart! So now I am researching why I see hearts everywhere I go. I think that it’s a reminder that my mom and dad are looking down on me to not loose hope and they are still with me.
I started seeing a few But amazing hearts when i started a relationship with my daughters father.. i thought Then it was the Universe agreeing with Our love …. now We barely have contact … Im seeing hearts everywhere and I know they are from Angels / spiritguides But Im Not sure What the message is other than love and support ..

Well my dear comrade in search of meanings of constant heart findings in 2003 in Brookings, Oregon was my 1st heart rock find it Was the same week my Grandmire ( gramma) died while I was in Oregon I found it while visiting the Coast. I just thought it was Amy Grandmothers way in telling me she will be with me in my heart. Years later now I just recently had a break up with my boyfriend of 15 months he left me for another woman who intently was working on getting him well it worked ever since the break up I have been seeing heart shaped objects, at work, at home, Evan found a heart shaped rock while outside watering my dogs. Think of Lovexand happiness when I see them and just keep an open mind the biblical bible verse from Galatians ( I believe ) the fruits of the Spirit Love and Joy are the 1st 2 worded in the scriptured verse I don’t exactly know what this heart shaped findings means but they are welcomed

I am staying with family in Austria and my aunt and I have been seeing hearts everywhere — it started with rocks, and then became everything from massive clouds to pieces of trash on the ground to paint chipping off the balcony. It started on the day we hiked up a big mountain (Zirbitzkogel), and I was having a hard time emotionally in terms of love (was feeling heartbroken). I immediately took it as a reminder that love is everywhere, and that you stumble upon it when you’re not looking for it. Still in a bit of a difficult time, though love is showing itself in my life and relationships with others all the time, and we are still finding the hearts every day. Thanks for sharing your story!

I found over thousands of heart. It was bam here u go hearts . My theory reason for so many hearts. Its because the universe telling you it loves you (me) yourself…
Wow I thought I was going crazy the first date I was on with my wife to be there was a heart shape rock on the ground between us ever since then hearts show up in all sorts of ways I fried an egg and the yolk turned in to a heart I took a pic of it and almost every other heart that shows up .. my better half and I split up for a bit but still spoke and hearts showed up we have gotten back together after apart for 4 months and hearts are around us everywhere and we are better then ever ..
I also see heart shapes everywhere. Rocks, vegies, chips, flower petal, tree branches, pet hair. I to take pictures. My husband of 43 years passed away 1 year ago. Our love for each other was exceptional, never an argument or harsh words, we only spoke encouragement and support to one another. Our love for one another started on our first date. We were always together in work, doing our chores or just in everyday activities. We only wanted the best for each other. If he was working on the car I would be there handing him his tools. If i was washing windows he would be washing the otherside. We wouldn’t even go to the grociery store without the other. We were never apart from one another by choice. We always knew we only had so much time on this earth together and we weren’t going to loose a minute being away from each other. My loss has been unbearable this past year, and seeing heart shapes brings a me a sense of peace. I wish to believe it is signs from him and our love. ❤
(Sorry in advance for my grammar) Just sharing mine. So, I didn’t finished my political science course in college because my Father and i fought, he wanted me to finish the course that he chose for me and I stopped a semester 3 times because he keeps on spending the money on the cockpit arena(gambling) until now. it took me 6?7? years to realize I need to follow my dreams so i left home and went to my sister’s place and decided to study again. Luckily my mom supported me. I shifted to being fine arts student which i really want since i was a child, On the first day on my new school that’s the time I have been seeing a heart shapes. On ink, paint colors heart shape, water heart shape, clouds,dust, dirt, on food, crumpled paper, wood carve etc. everywhere everyday there is a heart shapes. My eyes notice it first when I look at everything. My everyday becomes so relaxing that I feel like I need to focus on my dreams. It felt like someone is watching me from above. I talk to God sometimes praying for my soulmate to come and I feel God is saying like “No, take care of yourself first before I give you that.” Idk if it is just me. Its funny for me that I get sad and heartbroken but still smiling, I’d stop loving again since 2015, after my exgirl broke up with me. And now my 20y/o crush in the new school transfered to other school far from our school. Btw im 24y/o, Oh sad. And it felt like my heart belongs to her idk nvm Meanwhile Its been a year I’ve been seeing a heart shapes. And not just that, i discovered new skill like palm reading and predictions in my dreams. I was scared that I stop doing it, but it comes naturally. sorry if I’m getting to far from the topic?. So The heart shape is like Inverted triangle, symbolizes a vessel in which love is poured and carried, and I had this triangle mark on my palm idk if it is inverted, still confuse if I’m ready to love again or love my career ,idk. but i trust God and continue to reach my dreams and i need to say sorry for my dad , i hope he will understand my choice in life.
